If you’ve ever run a high-speed Husky HyPET line, you know the struggle. You crank up the wattage, but you’re still fighting that “cold core” problem. It’s frustrating. You end up with a preform that’s scorched on the outside while the center is still hard as a rock. It’s not about how much heat you throw at the plastic. It’s about how that heat actually gets inside. The trick is in the wavelengths. We don’t just use any old bulbs. We spec our lamps to hit the exact absorption bands that PET actually likes. By tweaking the tungsten filament and using high-purity quartz, we push the IR output deeper into the plastic wall. The result? The whole preform hits its glass transition temperature at the same time. If you’re using a standard lamp, you’re basically just searing the surface, and you’ll see those burn marks long before the base is soft enough to blow. Built for the real world Our lamps are simple drop-in replacements. They fit the Husky footprint perfectly. We use heavy-duty electrodes and keep the length tolerances tight, so they slide into the oven racks without putting any stress on the glass. And since these machines vibrate like crazy during high-speed cycles, we reinforced the connection points. They can take the shaking. One heads-up: if you push higher wattage to speed up your cycles, you’re adding a lot of thermal load to your system. Just make sure your cooling fans are dialed in. You don’t want to overheat the machine frame just to shave a few seconds off a cycle. No headaches on the shop floor When a lamp burns out, you want it gone and a new one in—fast.
