Keeping You Warm (And Safe) in the Shower
Let’s be honest: putting a heater in a bathroom is a bit like playing a game of chicken with electricity. You’ve got steam everywhere and water splashing just about every surface. It’s the perfect recipe for a short circuit. That’s why we spent so much time obsessing over our IPX4 infrared heaters. We wanted something that actually works in a wet environment without making you nervous every time you flip the switch.
Why most quartz tubes just… pop
If you’ve ever seen a cheap heater fail, it’s usually because of “thermal shock.” Imagine a quartz tube glowing at 800°C. Now imagine a single, cold drop of water hitting it. The glass shrinks instantly, and crack—it shatters. Not fun. To stop that from happening, we use explosion-proof quartz glass. It’s built to handle those wild temperature swings. It doesn’t just sit there and take the heat; it can actually handle the physical shock of water hitting it without giving up.
Dealing with the splashes
Then there’s the electrical side of things. We went with an IPX4 rating, which is basically a fancy way of saying we’ve blocked the exits. We sealed the wiring entries and tucked gaskets around the lamp housing so moisture can’t sneak into the terminals. Because if water hits the internal circuitry, you’re looking at a ground fault. The shell keeps the water out, and the toughened tube handles whatever spray manages to get through the grille.
A few things to keep in mind
Here’s the deal: these lamps get hot fast. Like, really fast. But that means they pull a lot of power. Just make sure your bathroom circuit can handle the surge, or you’ll be spending your morning resetting the breaker. And while we call the glass “explosion-proof,” it’s still glass. If you drop a heavy shampoo bottle right on it, it’s still going to break. We designed these to be easy replacements for your old heaters. They are a little bit bulkier than the standard ones because those splash-proof seals take up some room, but that’s a trade-off we’re happy to make. It’s a small price to pay for peace of mind while you’re getting ready in the morning.
