If you’re trying to speed up your production line or you’re tired of staring at the clock during preheating, air alone isn’t going to help you. That’s why we add gold-coated infrared (IR) heaters into the mix. Think of them as a turbocharger for your oven. Why the gold? It sounds fancy, but it’s actually about physics. Regular quartz tubes throw heat everywhere—half of it just ends up warming up the oven walls. By coating the tube in gold, we force the energy into a tight, intense beam. Instead of wasting power, the heat goes exactly where it needs to: straight into your workpiece. It’s a much more direct way of doing things. Getting it to work We usually build these to fit right into the space you already have. Whether you’re running 220V or 380V, we tweak the wattage so the lamps don’t burn out when they’re working hard. And just to be clear, these aren’t replacing your fans. They’re there to help. The best part? The gold coating lets the tubes hit their operating temperature almost instantly. No more waiting for those old-school resistive elements to slowly crawl up to temp. A few things to watch out for Now, this isn’t a magic wand. Because the heat is so concentrated, it’s possible to create “hot spots” if your parts aren’t sitting just right. You have to be careful. You’ll want to set up your PID controllers to dial back the IR lamps once the air in the oven hits your target temperature. If you leave them pinned at 100% the whole time, you’re going to scorch your product. The trick is to use the IR for that initial blast of heat to get things moving, then let the convection air take over for the steady soak. Simple as that.
